Govett-Brewster Art Gallery - Solo Exhibition - 'Breath'
Vincent Ward’s 2012 solo exhibition Breath at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery featured a twenty-channel digital video projection and immersive soundscape. The choreographed installation occupied the largest of the gallery’s spaces, creating an enveloping environment of moving image and sound design. The remaining four spaces presented Ward’s multimedia paintings and photographic works.
The exhibition was curated by Rhana Devenport, former Director of Auckland Art Gallery and later of the Art Gallery of South Australia.
The works were re-conceived for Shanghai Biennale with video work across 5 screens, and 4 printed works on silk
