"Ward’s ongoing concerns with metamorphosis, falling, light, fear, memory, darkness and the transformative moment have led him to create a series of vast, physically imposing works that delve into other-worldly landscapes and transcendent states, to evocations of loss, redemption and unconscious realms."
Rhana Devenport, Former Director, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, current Director, Art Gallery of South Australia.
First presented at Govett Brewster Gallery as a series of 7 large photographic prints; Also 10 x 3.5 metre mixed media works on canvas; And an immersive installation with 20 channels (projectors) of choreographed video and sound design.
